PANGONG LAKE (LADAKH, J&K, INDIA)

At 14200 feet Pangong is the highest  brackish water lake of world.It is located in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir state.Surprisingly this lake is 150km long and about 50 kms is under India & rest is under the control of China.This is a sensitive territory with our neighbour. It is a trekkers paradise as one is stunned by the raw beauty of this lake and its surroundings.It is an ideal habitat for a vast variety of migratory birds including endangered black necked siberian crane which prefer to breed in the marshes of this lake.It is about 160 kms from main town of Leh. This is a worth visit place.
